Suspend the
switch
In
a pan of coolant (50-50
mixture) and check the temperatures at which the
switch
opens and closes. Make sure that there is no
switch continuity with room temperature and
gradually raise the coolant temperature. The switch
should have continuity (close) at 98-102°C (208-
215°Fl.
NOTE
Keep temperature for 3 minutes before
testing continuity. A sudden change of
temperature will cause error of tempera-
lure reading between the thermometer and
the switch.
Do not let the thermometer or switch
toudl the pan

it will give a fales reading.
Soak the
switch
in coolant up to its
threads.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Disconnect the greenlblue wire from the tempera-
ture sensor.
With the engine cokl. use an ohmmeter to measure
resistance between the temperature sensor terminal
and the engine.
Check the temperature of the coolant.
