CRANKSHAFT/PISTON
Mark the rods, pistons. bearings, and caps as you
remove them to indicate the correct cylinder and
position on the crankpins.
PISTON REMOVAL
Remove the piston pin clips. Push the piston pin
out and remove the piston.
Mark the piston pins to indicate their correct
piston position.
PISTON/PISTON RING INSPECTION
Measure the piston ring-lo-groove clearance.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0,10 mm 10.004 in}
(TOP/SECOND)
Remove the piston rings and mark them to.indicate
the correct cylinder and piston position.
Clean the piston crown, removing all carbon de-
posits.
Inspect the piston for cracks or other damage and
the ring grooves for excessive wear and carbon
build-up.
