INSPECT ECT SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR
OPEN CIRCUIT
• Turn the ignition switch off.
• Inspect for continuity between the following
terminals:
- ECT sensor terminal A (wiring

harness-side) and PCM terminal 2J
(wiring harness-side)
- ECT sensor terminal B (wiring
harness-side) and PCM terminal
2AX (wiring harness-side)
• Is there continuity?
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC
P0118 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected
connectors.

• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory
using the WDS or equivalent.
• Start the engine.
• Is the same DTC present?
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the "AFTER REPAIR
PROCEDURE".

• Are any DTCs present?
DTC P0121
• If the PCM detects that the throttle valve opening angle is less than 12.5 % for 5
s after the following conditions are met, the PCM determines that there is a TP
sensor circuit range/performance problem:

• If the PCM detects that the throttle valve opening angle is more than 50% for 5
s after the following conditions are met, the PCM determines that there is a TP
sensor circuit range/performance problem.
