Lubrication system, description
The engine's lubrication system is a completely closed system and
has no connections to the machine.
For position of components, see Engine alternative Volvo, compo-
nent position page 4 or Engine alternative Cummins, component po-
sition page 7.
Oil and oil filter, change (engine alternative
Volvo)
Avoid skin contact with the oil, use protective
gloves.
Hot oil may cause burns, rashes and irritation!
1 Run the engine until warm.
2 Machine in service position, see section B Safety.
3 Place a receptacle underneath the engine.
4 Remove the drain plug on the engine and drain the engine of oil.
5 Place a receptacle under the oil filters.
6 Clean the area around the oil filters.
7 Remove the oil filters.
8 Install new oil filters.
Lubricate the O-rings on the new filters with engine oil.
Full-flow filter: tighten to contact and then another half to
three-quarter turn.
By-pass filter: tighten to contact and then another three-
quarter to one turn.
9 When the oil has drained, install the oil plug. Torque with max.
60 Nm.
