Troubleshooting cable harness

NOTE
Perform troubleshooting for all cables in the same way to avoid
damage to control units, components or measuring equipment.
1 Study the circuit diagram in question, check where the suspect-

Some components cannot be checked without power sup-
ply to the component. In such an event, proceed to point 5.

Measure resistance between connections for the compo-
nent in the connector at the control unit or component.
b. The resistance must correspond with the component. Oth-
erwise there may be an open circuit or short circuit in cable
harness and/or component.

Unplug the connector both at the control unit and compo-
nent in question.
b. Measure the resistance of one lead at a time. Measure be-
tween the lead and a frame-connected part of the ma-
chine.
c.
The multimeter should show endless resistance.
