Fault description
♦ Air in line system.
♦ Line system, master or slave
cylinder leaking.
♦ Release bearing is tilted on the
guide bushing, seizured.
♦ Membrane spring of the pres‐
sure plate broken.
Fault description
♦ Over-centre helper spring de‐
fective.
♦ The clutch release force has in‐
creased through the wear of the
clutch lining.
♦ Release bearing is tilted on the
guide bushing, seizured.
♦ Pressure plate with wrong
spring identification.
♦ Mechanical fault at the pressure
plate or the clutch disc.
♦ Clutch disc on the serration
sluggish/jams.
Fault description

not in order, contact surface
drained off.
♦ Contact surface of the pressure
plate defective (tips of mem‐
brane spring bent, broken). Re‐
lease bearing is off-center.

Measure
– Vent air from the line system;
top up with brake fluid.
– Replace defective component,
vent air from the line system; top
up with brake fluid.
– Replace guide bushing and re‐
lease bearing.
– Replace pressure plate.
Measure
– Replace over-centre helper
spring.
– Inform customer (higher release
force with increased wear).
– Replace the clutch disc if the
distance base of the rivet is be‐
low 0.1 mm.
– Replace defective components.
– Assign pressure plate via the ⇒
Electronic catalogue of original
parts .
– Replace defective components.
– Check the hub for damage
(burrs), if necessary replace
clutch disc.
– Clean the hub and the drive
shaft serration from corrosion
and residues of lubricant and
grease with grease for plug ser‐
ration of clutch disc -
G 000 100- . Move clutch disc
back and forth, remove excess
grease.
Measure
– Always replace noisy release
bearing.
– Replace damaged guide bush‐
ing.
– Replace pressure plate.
– Check release bearing and
guide bushing, replace if neces‐
sary.
– Check position of clutch release
lever.
– Check dowel sleeves.
