Step5
Turn on the power switch of the router if the router is powered off.
Step6
After the FIP is powered on, the RUN LED (green) flashes once and then flashes fast (at 8 Hz).
It flashes slowly (at 1 Hz) after the application is loaded. This means that the FIP runs normally.
The device supports hot-swapping of FIPs.
If there is a great resistance when you push a FIP into a slot, first remove the blank panels at
both sides of the slot, then install the FIP, and finally install the removed blank panels to prevent
dust from entering the chassis.
Do not insert or remove a HIM/MIM into or from a FIP when the RUN LED on the FIP is blinking
fast. Otherwise, an exception may occur.
By default, the RUN LEDs of the FIPs will light up in the ascending order of slot numbers.
For a device configured with an RPE-X1 and a combination of FIPs including FIP-100, FIP-110,
FIP-200, and FIP-210, the application of FIP-110/FIP-200/FIP-210 is loaded faster than the
application of FIP-100, that is, the RUN LEDs of the FIP-110/FIP-200/FIP-210 start to blink long
before the RUN LED of the FIP-100 does. Do not remove the FIP-100 at this moment.
For more information of the FIP LEDs, see "FIPs" in Chapter 1 "Router Overview."
