13. VALVE CLEARANCE
INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT
Valve clearance inspection and adjustment must be
performed with the engine cold.
1. Remove the spark plug cap from the spark plug.
2. Remove the fan cover/fuel tank
3. Remove the four flange bolts from the cylinder head
cover.
4. Remove the cylinder head cover by prying slowly at each
corner.
Discard the head cover and replace it with a new one
after completing this procedure
5. Rotate the engine until the cam lobe is pointing directly
forward (away from the flywheel).
