Symptom
Data errors at both
endpoints.
Data errors at 64KBPS.
Local or remote endpoint
fails to enter or stay in test
mode when either a Remote
Loopback or Remote
Loopback/Self-Test is
attempted.
Problem
V.35 interface speed mismatch.
Speed mismatch between local
and remote stations.
The data invert option is set
incorrectly at 64KBPS.
Remote endpoint does not
support the remote loopback
tests.
Incompatible options selected.
RTS input lead on the V.35
interface is OFF.

Solution
Change the local terminal
equipment speed to match the
remote terminal equipment
speed or remote terminal
equipment speed to match the
local terminal equipment speed.
Set SPEED to 56KBPS if the
local terminal equipment
operates at 56000 bps, or set
SPEED to 64KBPS if the
equipment operates at 64000
bps.
Change DATA INVERT? to the
other choice and try again.
Verify that remote endpoint
supports either the AT&T or
V.54 protocol for remote
loopback control.
Set LOOPBACK to AT&T or
V.54 as needed to match
remote endpoint. For 64KBPS,
set DATA INVERT to OFF.
For 56KBPS, HALF DUPLEX,
configure the V.35 terminal
equipment to turn ON the RTS
lead.
