Button Label Generator

The button caps are pre-labeled for your convenience by default. However, you can replace
them with the included additional printed button labels or with labels that you create and
print yourself (see
them out of the guide, write button information in each button area as desired, and insert
them in the switcher input or output button caps. You can also create labels using the
Button Label Generator software (see "Using the Button Label Generator").

Using the Button Label Generator

The Button Label Generator software creates labels for the DXP input and output buttons.
You can create labels with names, alphanumeric characters, icons, and even colored
bitmaps for easy and intuitive input and output selection. See
on the next page for procedures for removing and replacing the button covers and changing
the labels.
The program can be downloaded from www.extron.com. When you install the software,
by default a directory is created for the program at C:\Program Files\Extron\
ButtonLabelGenerator. The Button Label Generator icon is placed in the Extron
Electronics group or folder.

Blank Button Labels
To run the label creation program, double-click on the Button Label
Generator icon (shown at right) in the Extron Electronics group or folder.
The Button Label Generator window opens.

From the Systems pull-down menu, select DXP 44/88 for the layout that most
resembles all DXP switchers (although you can select any option from this menu). You
can also select Customize Button Layouts from the Tools menu to open the
Customize button layout window, on which you can create your own layout.
Click on the button representation that you want to edit. A red box surrounds the
selected button.
