External Stop Function
The external stop function forces the Servomotor to stop when an external switch that is con-
nected to the SERVOPACK operates. The EXSTOP (External Stop Input) signal is used for the
external stop function. If the switch operates, a hard stop is performed for the motor and the
servo is turned OFF.
Note: The external stop function is not designed to comply with any safety standard. In this respect, it is different
from the hard wire base block (HWBB).
To prevent accidents that may result from contact faults or disconnections, use a normally
closed switch for the External Stop Input switch.

Enabling/Disabling the External Stop Input Signal
You can disable the External Stop Input signal by changing the settings of a parameter in the
SERVOPACK. If the signal is disabled, wiring the External Stop Input signal is not required.

The EXSTOP (External Stop Input) signal is input from CN1-12.
(Default setting)
Meaning
The External Stop Input signal is active while the external switch
is open. (Default setting)

is closed.
