Adjust Paper Curl

This section describes adjusting settings for removing curl from paper sheets.
The Paper Curl Adjustment feature allows you to minimize or eliminate paper curl due to the
heat and pressure. You can also register an appropriate adjustment type in accordance with
the characteristics of paper selected.

Paper Curl Adjustment Types

There are three types of predefined adjustment configurations on the machine. Select [Type
B] to check the printed results first, and then select [Type A] or [Type C] accordingly.

If selecting a predefined option ([Type A], [Type B], or [Type C]) does not result in proper
adjustment, set an appropriate adjustment type in accordance with the characteristics of
paper selected and output format. You can register up to 10 configuration sets. The screen
below is an example of registering an adjustment type.
The following screen is an example of registering an adjustment type.
The following table shows items that appear on the setting screen.

Suitable for upward curl. Select this type when curl is upward in
the printed results from [Type B].
Standard type for paper curl adjustment on the machine.
Suitable for downward curl. Select this type when curl is
downward in the printed results from [Type B].
Upward curl is corrected.
Downward curl is corrected.
No adjustment is applied.
Set the name of the adjustment type.
Set the adjustment value for 1-sided copying that is delivered facing
up.
Set the adjustment value for 1-sided copying that is delivered facing
down.
2 Sided Set the adjustment value for 2-sided copying.
Auto Select this check box to adjust paper curl automatically to fit
paper characteristics. Uncheck this check box to enable the
adjustment scale on the right.
