4. The IP address, etc. for the Communication unit (CommHUB) are as listed below;
IP address
Subnet mask
SIP Proxy server
DNS server
Handset, Incoming indicator, PC: Automatically allocated by the DHCP server
5. It is recommended to set the IP addresses for the network connected terminals such
as the PCs, Handsets, and Incoming indicator by having them automatically
allocated by the DHCP server function equipped in the Communication unit .
Of course you can allocate static IP addresses, too. For example, set static IP
addresses for when setting the IP Filter or when forwarding the system log.
As for the setup procedure, Refer to page 7-7.
6. Handsets and Analog TEL/FAX devices will need to be registered in the SIP server
in order to be able to use them. As for the setup procedure, refer to Chapter 4.
7. IMEI is stored in EEPROM (U49) for the MODEM board. When you replace the
MODEM board, make sure to replace the EEPROM with the original one.
As for the arrangement of EEPROM, refer to page 9-5.
8. In order to update the software for the Communication unit HUB board, 2 LAN
ports (two LAN addresses) are required.
As for the details, refer to page 12-7.
9. The methods to clear the memory (to restore to default status) for the Handsets and
the Communication unit are;
Communication unit: Remove the SIM cover, and turn the power ON while
pressing HW Reset SW
Handset: Turn the power on while pressing the [ON Hook] key and [*] key.
As for the details, refer to page 10-42.
10. Signal Strength
The rough signal strength level which can be confirmed via Main -> Status monitor
for FELCOM-500 for when communication is not made will be "approx. 60", and
when communication is made, it will rise to "approx. 70".
In the case of FELCOM-250, the rough standard will rise from "approx. 55" to
" 65".
Note that the values may vary according to the Antenna variation, the satellite used,
and the position.
