You can set the size of the metering area. The procedure is as follows.
1 In shooting mode, press the [MENU]
button to display the [Shooting menu]
screen.
2 Select [Metering area], and then press
the [OK] (or right) button.
The [Metering area] screen appears.
3 Select one of the following three
metering area sizes:
 Large
About 95% of the image sensor is

measured.
 Middle (initial setting)
About 50% of the image sensor is
measured.
 Spot
About 20% of the image sensor is
measured.
4 Press the [OK] (or right) button to apply
the selection.
The [Shooting menu] screen appears
again.
Position of the metering area
The center of the metering area is always fixed to the center of the image sensor.
