Checking bearing

•
Visually and manually check inner grooved ball
bearing (2) and needle bearing (4) of inner belt
pulley plate (1).
•
Bearings must turn smoothly and silently.
•
Check security of bearings.

Replacing grooved ball bearing and needle
bearing of secondary inner plate
•
Using support ring, BMW No. 36 6 610, and
puller, BMW No. 00 8 570, remove needle bear-
ing (4).
•
Remove circlip (3).
•
Use drift to drive out grooved ball bearing (2).
•
Press out needle bearing with tubular drift,
BMW No. 11 7 645.
•
Press out grooved ball bearing.
