Description:
The error condition 1027 "Out of transfer ribbon" is not
reported even though the printer positively is out of ribbon or
it becomes impossible to print with the printer being set up for
direct thermal printing regardless if the transfer ribbon is
removed (error 1058 "Transfer ribbon fitted").
Possible Causes and Suggested Remedies:
• Printer is not set up for thermal transfer printing.
- Check the Media/Paper Type setup, e.g. in the Setup Mode or
on test label #5.
• Ribbon end sensor malfunction.
- Check the ribbon sensor for paper dust or foreign objects.
- Check that the mirror plate is properly aligned.
- Check that the sensor's cable is undamaged and properly
connected to P52 on the CPU board.
- Adjust the sensitivity of the receiver by means of potentiometer
WR52 on the CPU board.
- Fit or remove strap on P56 to change the intensity of the light
emitter.
Description:
The ribbon low sensor is not working properly.
Possible Causes and Suggested Remedies:
• Intermec Fingerprint instruction missing.
- The ribbon low sensors requires a custom-made program,
that reads SYSVAR(13), see Intermec Fingerprint 7.12
Reference Manual. Check the program.
• Dirty sensor.
- Check that the sensor is free from dust and foreign objects so
they can read the gaps in the code disc of the ribbon unwind
unit.
• Bad connection.
- Check that the ribbon low sensor is connected to P57 on the
CPU board and that the cable is undamaged.
