2 - Non-bootable Flash Disk:
Unlike bootable Flash disks which must begin at the first Flash block, non-bootable disks
can begin anywhere.
11.01.3 VFLASH REQUIREMENTS
VFLASH is designed to operate in an IBM compatible environment.
The MS-DOS operating system has been successfully tested with VFLASH; MS-DOS
compatible operating systems such as DR-DOS and PC-DOS should therefore support
VFLASH. Operating systems such as QNX and OS-9000 are not supported by VFLASH
(other utility programs are available for such operating systems; please contact our
Technical Support department for more information).
If you intend to directly program Flash device on the VIPer807, VFLASH must be
running on board.
If you need a remote computer to program Flash device on the VIPer807 (host), then the
board must be in Download Mode and VFLASH must be running on the remote computer.
A serial cable must be connected between the COM1 or COM2 ports, in the same way as
in VT100 mode (the remote computer is cabled like a VT100 terminal, see Section 14 -
VT100 MODE).
F To properly run VFLASH, you need at least 1 floppy drive, 1MB of DRAM,
MS-DOS® or PC-DOS (version 2 or greater) or DR-DOS (version 3. 41 or
greater).
