Table 4-9 Ethernet Configuration Menu Option
Option Description
Span to PC Port Indicates whether the phone will
(applies to 7911G forward packets transmitted and
only) received on the network port to the
access port.
Enable this option if an application that
requires monitoring of the phone's
traffic is being run on the access port.
These applications include monitoring
and recording applications (common in
call center environments) and network
packet capture tools that are used for
diagnostic purposes.

The Ethernet Configuration menu displays whether the Span to PC Port option is
enabled on the phone (Cisco Unified IP Phone 7911G only).
