Section 700 - Operation
Operation
To place a call on System Hold:
1. While on a call, press the HOLD key.
To retrieve a call placed on System Hold:
1. Press the HOLD key.
To retrieve a held call on a specific exchange line:
1. Lift the handset or press the ON/OFF key.
2. Enter the Specified Exchange Line Answer code (default =
*0).
3. Enter the exchange line number.

Floating Hold

Floating Hold is a type of System Hold that allows you to retrieve a held call from any extension by
dialing the Floating Hold orbit number for the held call.
Floating Hold is useful when the intended recipient of a call must be located via a page. The call can
be placed in a Floating Hold "orbit" and that orbit number announced during the page. The paged
party can then pick up the call by dialing the orbit number.
Operation
To place a call on Floating Hold:
1. Press the HOLD key.
To retrieve a call from Floating Hold:
1. Enter the Floating Hold Pickup feature access code (default
= *9).
2. Enter the Floating Hold orbit number (001-576 (CPC-288/
576), 01-96 (CPC-96/-HS/-HM) or 001-099 (CPC-288/576)
or 01-09 (CPC-96/-HS/-HM) (See considerations below.)
