Setup
The CR8e ships from the factory with I/O Interface cards installed in both
Feature card slots. On each master subsystem you will need to install the S2S
Interface Card (Single-ended or Differential) in the upper (right) feature card
slot.
Loosen the two thumb screws on the upper (right) I/O Interface card and
remove the card.
Lower (left) Feature
Card Slot
Set the host SCSI bus termination on the S2S Interface card. If the subsystem
is at the end of the host SCSI bus, termination on the card is required.
Remove the jumper (JP1) to enable termination. Offset the jumper pins to
store the plastic jumper.
If the subsystem is not at the end of the host SCSI bus, termination is not
required. Verify that the jumper (JP1) is installed which disables termination.
Insert the S2S Interface card into the selected feature card slot. The card is
keyed and will only install one way, component side up or to the right.
The insertion process requires a fair amount of force. The process is made
easier by placing both thumbs on the cards' handles and applying the force.
The card is completely seated when it reaches its second detent position and
is flush with the cabinet back panel. Tighten the thumb screws. Do not
overtighten the screws. Failure to install the card properly may result in
damage to the subsystem and/or interface card.
