Quick Start

For those who do not like to read manuals, a quick setup is provided as a guide to
getting the Ultra S2S RAID Controller installed, configured, and online with a
minimum of dialog and steps.
For each step, expanded information is cross referenced for the subject matter in
the specific chapter.
To setup your Ultra S2S RAID Controller:

Quick Start
Install the Ultra S2S RAID Controller into the front upper feature card bay.
Install the S2S Interface card in the upper (or right) feature card slot located
at the rear of the subsystem. (Terminate the S2S Interface card per your
configuration, refer to "Cabling Configuration" on page 22 for information on
supported configurations and their required termination.)
Connect the data cables. (Refer to "Cabling Configuration" on page 22 for
information on supported cabling configuration.)
Power up the subsystem. From either a VT100 terminal or DOS, use the
nStor AdminiStor PC Utilities (RAIDfx) to configure and initialize the
array(s). (Refer to "Method 1 – Using AdminiStor PC Utilities" on page 37 or
"Method 2– Using the VT100 Mode" on page 66 for detailed information on
the configuration utilities.) Follow the instructions on the screen for the
utilities software.
