Handsfree and Monitor
When it's inconvenient to hold the handset, you can use the speaker and microphone in your terminal and
talk Handsfree instead. Handsfree is great when you don't have a free hand for the terminal. (For example,
you may want to enter data at a computer while talking to a customer on the terminal.)
There are three types of Handsfree operation:
•
Handsfree - You can place and answer calls by pressing SPK instead of using the handset.
•
Automatic Handsfree - You can press a line or line appearance key without first lifting the hand-
set or pressing SPK. Your Communications Manager may have enabled this option for you.
•
Monitor - You can place a call without lifting the handset, but you must lift the handset to speak.
You always have this option - regardless of the type of terminal you have or how your UX5000 is
set up.
