Outside Calls, Placing
You May Have a Private Line
A Private Line is simply a line on your terminal that nobody else in the UX5000 can use. Only you can
place and answer calls on your Private Line. Your Communications Manager can tell you if you have a Pri-
vate Line.
If You Hear a Warning Tone
While on an outside call, you may hear occasional beeps through your speaker or handset. These tones
remind you that you have been on the call a long time.
How Prime Line Works
If you have Prime Line, you can place or answer a call on a specific line just by lifting the handset. With
Outgoing Prime Line Preference, you get dial tone on your Prime Line when you lift the handset. This hap-
pens even if another call is ringing in. If you usually need to place calls, Outgoing Prime Line Preference
may help you.
With Incoming Prime Line Preference, lifting the handset answers a ringing call. If you want easy answer-
ing of incoming calls, Incoming Prime Line Preference may be for you.
If Prime Line sounds helpful to you, your Communications Manager may be able to set it up.
Did Your Call Go Through?
If you dial certain calls and you find that they do not go through, ask your Communications Manager the
following questions:
•
Is my terminal Toll Restricted? If it is, what numbers am I prevented from dialing?
•
Can I override Toll Restriction? If so, what is my override code?
