Setting the Parameters from the Printer Control Panel
It is possible to set up the TCP/IP, Serial, Centronics (optional), and VPI (optional)
parameters from the printer control panel. The procedures for this are explained below.

The changed parameters become valid after the machine has been rebooted.
Refer to "2.2 Operation from the Printer Control Panel" for detailed instructions on
printer control panel operations (page 22).

Press the <
> key with [PORT SETTING]
displayed.

Select the interface that is to be set up with the
use of the < > and < > keys, and then press
the <
> key.
[TCP/IP], [SERIAL], [CENTRO], and [VPI]
will be displayed in that order.
[CENTRO] and [VPI] are optional.

Select the parameters with the use of the < >
and < > keys, and then press the <Set> key.
An [*] mark will be displayed on the right-hand
side of the value once it has been set.
The changed parameters are reflected
back on the system when the <Set> key is
pressed. It is not necessary to separately
save the changes afterwards.

up Communication Parameters" for
detailed instructions on each of the
relevant items (page 38).

Once all parameters have been set, switch off
the power of the printer and then switch it on
again to validate the changes.
