Memory transmission and real-time transmission

Memory transmission

When the indicator on the [Memory TX] key is lit, the memory transmission
mode is selected.
With memory transmission, the document is scanned, then stored in the
memory for transmission. Memory transmission allows transmission of the
next document to be specified while a different communication operation is
being performed (queued transmission).
Note
Memory transmission is selected as the default transmission mode.
For details on performing a memory transmission, refer to "General trans-
mission operation" on page 2-2.

Real-time transmission

When the indicator on the [Memory TX] key is not lit, the real-time transmis-
sion mode is selected.
With real-time transmission, each page of the document can be scanned ac-
cording to the transmission status. This ensures that even documents with
many pages can be sent.
!
Detail
Memory transmission is the default transmission mode. To select real-
time transmission as the default transmission mode, set "DEFAULT TX"
in Utility mode to "ADF TX". For details, refer to "Selecting the default
transmission mode ("DEFAULT TX" parameter)" on page 5-63.
When the real-time transmission mode is used, the document should be
loaded into the document feeder. Transmission is not possible by posi-
tioning the document on the original glass.
If a real-time transmission job is specified while a fax is being sent or re-
ceived, the transmission is queued.
Real-time transmission cannot be used if multiple recipients are speci-
fied.
The real-time transmission mode cannot be used together with the timer
transmission function.
