Error Message
An emulation type cannot be
applied is specified.
External volume that can be
added was not detected by
the search of Volume
Discovery.
Probable causes are:
Detected external volumes
are all defined.
Detected external volumes
are all blocked or the
capacity is insufficient.
The External Storage is not
installed.
The specified path
configuration cannot be set.
A virtual parity group (VPG)
cannot be allocated to the
external volume group (ExG).
Cannot allocate all LDEVs.
SSID cannot be allocated.
The selected volumes include
an external volume that the
external volume parameter is
already set. Set the
configuration in the following
[External Volume Parameter]
dialog box.
Recommended Action
Set the emulation type that
can be applied in the Set
External Volume Parameter
dialog box or Edit Policy
dialog box.
All detected external volumes
may be defined, blocked or
the capacity is insufficient.
See the manual of the
external device and check the
setting of the external volume,
or confirm whether the
program product is installed.
Change the path
configuration so that
mapping paths match
cross-subsystem paths.
The number of external
volumes may have reached
the maximum or the virtual
parity group (VPG) that can
be set after the specified
external volume group (ExG)
does not exist. Check the
setting.
The area to allocate LDEVs is
insufficient. Check the setting.
The number of SSIDs that can
be used in the SLPR may be
insufficient. Check the setting.
Check all items in the [Set
External Volume Parameter]
dialog box and click [OK].
