Installing AltiWare Admin on a Network Client

AltiWare Administrator can be installed to a network client, providing the ability to
manage the AltiWare system remotely. If there is no firewall on the LAN where AltiWare
resides, AltiWare Administrator can be installed and used to manage AltiWare over the
Internet from a remote site as well.
When you install AltiWare Administrator on a machine that is not an AltiWare server, it
does not contain the switching, SMTP/POP3 server, messaging agent, AltiBackup,
Exchange integration services that are included in the full AltiWare installation described
above. Remote AltiWare Administrator does not utilize the System Data Management or
Shutdown Switching Service functions on the AltiWare system.
To install AltiWare Administrator on a non-AltiServ PC for the first time:
1. Insert the AltiWare CD-ROM into the appropriate drive.
2. Run SETUP.EXE from the ACC Administrator or ACM Administrator folder.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Uninstalling AltiWare

To back out of the upgrade, be sure to stop all AltiWare-related services before
uninstallation. To do this, run AltiWare Administrator, log in, and select Services >
Shutdown Switching from the menu.
In the event that the auxiliary services were not stopped, stop them one at a time using
the Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Services applet.
Then go to Start > Programs > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs, and select
AltiWare ACC/ACM 5.1, and click Remove.
