Chapter 6 Command Reference
Power-on control = ON.
Default control = ON.
The message parameter is the message to be displayed. The message may contain
spaces, numerals, lower or upper case letters, and any of the following characters:
$ % & ' ( ) ^ \ / @ ; : [ ] , . + - = * < > ? _
! #
You must enclose a message in quotation marks only if it contains a space,
comma, or semicolon. Either single or double marks (' or ") may be used: the
beginning and ending marks must match.
A message may contain up to 75 characters (quotes enclosing the message are
not counted as characters).
Query Command. The DISP? query command returns the currently specified
control parameter. Refer to "Query Commands" near the front of this chapter
for more information.

The following command causes the multimeter to display the message
TIME-OUT and to stop automatically updating the display.
OUTPUT 722;"DISP OFF,TIME-OUT" !MESSAGE = TIME-OUT
In the following command, the message must be enclosed in quotation marks
because it contains a space.
OUTPUT 722;"DISP MSG,'TIME OUT'" !MESSAGE = TIME OUT
Direct-Sampling. Configures the multimeter for direct-sampled measurements
(digitizing). The DSAC function measures only the AC component of the input
waveform. The DSDC function measures the combined AC and DC components.
Otherwise, the two functions are identical. The DSAC and DSDC functions use
the track/hold circuit (2 nanosecond aperture) and a wide bandwidth input path
(12 MHz bandwidth).

Selects the measurement range. (You cannot use autorange for direct-sampled
measurements). To select a range, you specify max._input as the input signal's
expected peak amplitude. The multimeter then selects the correct range. The
