Resetting the zoning database

There are two ways to remove all aliases, zones, and zone sets from the zoning database:
Enter the reset zoning command, as shown in the following example. This is the preferred method.
SN6000 FC Switch #> admin start
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> reset zoning
The zoning configuration parameters, MergeAutoSave, DefaultZone, and DiscardInactive
remain unchanged.
Enter the zoning clear command, as shown in the following example:
SN6000 FC Switch #> admin start
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> zoning edit
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #> zoning clear
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #> zoning save

Deleting inactive zone sets, zones, and aliases

To delete all objects from the zoning database except those in the active zone set, enter the
zoning delete orphans command.
SN6000 FC Switch #> admin start
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> zoning delete orphans
This command will remove all zonesets, zones, and aliases
that are not currently active.
Please confirm (y/n): [n] y
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> zoning save

Managing zone sets

All zone set management tasks except
(page 79) require an Admin session and a Zoning Edit session.

Creating a zone set

To create a new zone set, enter the zoneset create command, as shown in the following example:
SN6000 FC Switch #> admin start
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> zoning edit
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #> zoneset create zoneset_1
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #>zoning save

Deleting a zone set

To delete a zone set, enter the zoneset delete command, as shown in the following example:
SN6000 FC Switch #> admin start
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> zoning edit
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #> zoneset delete zoneset_1
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #>zoning save

Renaming a zone set

To rename a zone set, enter the zoneset rename command, as shown in the following example:
SN6000 FC Switch #> admin start
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> zoning edit
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #> zoneset rename zoneset_old zoneset_new
SN6000 FC Switch (admin-zoning) #>zoning save
