The following is an example of the create support command to download the support file to
your workstation. When prompted to send the support file to another machine, you decline, close the
Telnet session, and open an FTP session on the switch and log in with the account name images
and password images. You then use the get FTP command to transfer the dump_support.tgz
file in binary mode.
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> create support
Log Msg:[Creating the support file - this will take several seconds]
FTP the dump support file to another machine? (y/n): n
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> quit
>ftp switch_ip_address
user:
password: images
ftp>bin
ftp>get dump_support.tgz
ftp> quit
The following is an example of the create support command when an FTP server is available on
the workstation:
SN6000 FC Switch #> create support
Log Msg:[Creating the support file - this will take several seconds]
FTP the dump support file to another machine? (y/n): y
Enter address of ftp server (hostname, IPv4, or IPv6): 10.20.33.130
Login name: johndoe
Enter remote directory name: bin/support
Would you like to continue downloading support file? (y/n) [n]: y
