Disabling Ethernet Interfaces

Use the shutdown command to disable an Ethernet interface.

Monitoring Ethernet Interfaces

This section explains how to use the show commands to display the physical
characteristics and the configured settings for Ethernet interfaces.
NOTE: The E120 and E320 routers output for monitor and show commands is
identical to output from other E Series routers, except that the E120 and E320 router
output also includes information about the adapter identifier in the interface specifier
(slot/adapter/port).

Setting Statistics Baselines

The router stores statistics in counters that reset only when you reboot. However,
you can establish a baseline for Ethernet statistics by setting a group of reference
counters to zero.
baseline interface fastEthernet | gigabitEthernet | tenGigabitEthernet
Use the no version to revert to the default, either automatically negotiate or 100
Mbps (FE-8 SFP I/O module only).
