When a stage is set to GATE TYPE = REST, the stage's pitch setting is
ignored, meaning the previous stage's pitch is held over into the rested
stage. So if you're using an envelope with a long decay/release, you
won't hear the pitch change as the sequence progresses to the rested
stage, and the previous stage's pitch will die out without changing —
exactly as you would expect a 'rest' to work.
When a stage is set to GATE TYPE = REST, the stage's pitch setting is
honoured. Since a rested stage does not generate a new gate, you will
only hear this effect if you're using an envelope in which the
decay/release time is long enough to extend into the rested stage. At this
point, you would hear the pitch change as the envelope continues to
decay. This can result in some interesting 'ghost' notes or (if using the
SLIDE options) a "slur", rather than a "rest."
Resets the track's sequence when a trigger arrives at the RESET jack
and/or when you press the RESET button.
Does not reset the track's sequence when a trigger arrives at the RESET
jack, nor when the RESET button is pressed (unless the TRACK # button
is held down).
If a track is set to transmit over MIDI, this value is used to derive MIDI
velocity. Velocity can also be assigned to OUT A or B for voltage
controlling any parameter on an external module.
Assigns a default, static velocity voltage of either 50%, 75% or 100% to
the entire track. This voltage can be modulated using either the CTRL
knobs, AUX inputs or a MOD Lane, allowing for dynamic velocity control
via Metropolix.
Uses the track's CV lane to determine velocity levels per-stage, which
can be further modulated using the CTRL knobs, AUX inputs or a
MOD Lane.
Sets the MIDI Channel (1-16) over which the Track's data is transmitted,
allowing Metropolix to external MIDI devices via its USB port. If you do
not want the Track to transmit MIDI over USB, set the value to "—".
Translates the track's CV lane to a user-selectable MIDI CC value,
allowing the CV to control any CC-accessible parameter on an external
MIDI device. CC is transmitted over USB using the MIDI Channel
selection. If you do not want the track to translate CV to MIDI CC, set the
value to "—".
Assigns a MIDI CC number to Metropolix' SLIDE function. When Slide is
activated on a Stage, Metropolix will transmit a value of 127 on this CC,
over USB, using the MIDI Channel selection. Stages without slides will
transmit a value of 0 on this CC.
You can set this CC to match the Glide/Portamento on/off control of an
external synth (sometimes CC 65, but not always), or you can assign it to
any other function you'd like to have Metropolix toggle on/off.
