Getting
Started
CD Player gives you full con rol over an a ached CD-ROM drive. Using
CD Player requires wo drivers: one is a hardware-dependen device
driver.
Sof ware reference o his drivers is normally placed in he
CONFIG.SYS file. The second drivers is Microsof 's execu able pro
gram, MSCDEX. Refer o your CD-ROM drive ins alla ion manual for
addi ional ins alla ion ins ruc ions.

/D:device-name
Specifies he name of hedevice driver. This name
mus be iden ical o he device name used in he
CONFIG.SYS file.
IM:n
Specify he number of sec or buffers used o
cache he pa h able of a CD-ROM disc. Typically,
each drive has a minimum of four o five buffers.
The larger his number, he less your PC has o
read direc ly from he CD-ROM drive.
IE
Tells MSCDEX.EXE o use expanded memory if
your sys em is using expanded memory.

Displays memory usage when boo ing your PC.
