SOUND BLASTER
Hardware conflicts with other adaptor cards can cause the test program
to halt. These other cards may be using the I/O port, interrupt or DMA
channel that the test program accesses.
You can avoid hardware conflic by en ering TEST-SBP IM. The op ­
ional IM swi ch se he es for manual selec ion. The es program will
promp you o selec he hardware configura ion ha ma ches he number
se ing on he card.
If he es program repor s an error on one of he se ings, his indica es
a hardware conflic be ween Sound Blas er Pro and ano her hardware
card.
To resolve he conflic , change he hardware configura ion on he o her
adap or card or he Sound Blas er Pro card. We s rongly sugges ha you
avoid changing he fac ory defaul se ing of he Sound Blas er Pro
because i is backward compa ible wi h he Sound Blas er card.
If you decide o change he hardware configura ion on he Sound Blas er
Pro, please refer o Changing Jumper Settings and Appendix C o solve
any ins alla ion problems.
If you have changed he fac ory defaul configura ion, you mus ins all he
drivers discussed in Installing Sound Drivers.
For hose who wish o change se ings, swi ch off he compu er and
remove he Sound Blas er Pro card. Loca e he jumpers by referring o he
illus ra ion on page 1-5.
Only wo I/O addresses are available: 220Hex and 240Hex. Place he
jumper on he selec ed pins.
