Sound Blas er sof ware requires wo environmen s s rings o be se before
sof ware can run: SOUND and BLASTER. While his is done hrough
he ins alla ion program and au oma ically added o you
AUTOEXEC.BAT file, you need o know how hey are used if you
decide o make any hardware or sof ware changes. (For addi ional
informa ion on he Se command, refer o your DOS manual.)
The ins all program modifies your AUTOEXEC.BAT file o include he
command SET SOUND=C:\SBPRO (assuming your Sound Blas er
sof ware is ins alled in C:). If you change he sound drivers o a differen
direc ory or drive, you will have o change he Se Sound command in
your AUTOEXEC.BAT file o reflec he change.
The SOUND environmen s ring specifies he direc ory loca ion of
Sound Blas er's sound drivers ando her sof ware. Many sof ware packages
rely on his environmen se ing o loca e he sound drivers and o her
Sound Blas er files.
