Roland MPU 401.
The Sound Blas er Pro complies wi h he In erna ional
MIDI Associa ion recommended s andard. The
MPU 401 has some in elligence in i s MIDI implemen ­
a ion. This in elligence could be easily emula ed by a
small driver rou ine in he PC. Hence, programs ha
run on he MPU 401 canno work direc ly on he Sound
Blas er Pro. They mus be modified by heir respec ive
sof ware companies in order o run on he Sound
Blas er Pro.
Before buying any MIDI sof ware, please ensure ha
hey suppor Sound Blas er Pro.

To iden ify he possible conflic ing card, remove all he
non-essen ial cards one by one from he sys em; leav ­

Video Adap or card in he sys em.
Af er each card is removed, run he same program ha
hangs he sys em. If problem is solved, hen he las
card removed has apossibleconflic wi h Sound Blas er
Pro. Try o de ermine whe her i is a DMA conflic ,
in errup conflic or I/O address conflic by looking up
he manuals of his card.
