Fil er selec ion is dependen on he sampling ra e you selec when
recording. Use he following char o de ermine fil er selec ion.

When se ing he Sampling Ra e, you will no ice ha
he higher he
sampling ra e, he shor er he recording ime. Also, remember o se he
sampling ra e o ma ch your fil er selec ion (Refer o he fil er char ). For
a be er unders anding of Sound Sampling refer o he Sound Basics
sec ion. Generally speaking, he higher he sampling ra e, he be er he
recorded sound quali y.
Scanning Input
The nex hing you need o do is make sure here is sound inpu o he
Sound Blas er Pro card. If you have selec ed CD or Line-In, you can hear
he sound. You canno hear ou pu from he microphone hrough he
speakers. However, you can see a graphic represen a ion of he selec ed
sound source.
To scan inpu :
1. Selec Scan Input from he op ion menu. A screen displays an
ac ive waveform. If you are using a microphone, you need o
speak in o i before you can see he waveform.
2. Once you are sa isfied wi h he inpu , press Escape or press he
mouse bu on o remove he Inpu Scan Screen.
Note: The Sound Blas er Pro board has a buil -in self-a enua ion sys em
o preven spiking. When you speak or play sound, you may no ice a line
ouch he bo om of he waveform screen. However, he Sound Blas er Pro
card will begin rounding ou he signal o preven his.
