Getting Started
This mischievous parro likes o mimic speech. I alks back, some imes
wi h ou rageous remarks and i even giggles when ickled. You can say
any hing you wan , in any language. You can press any key or simply
leave i alone and see wha happens.
The purpose of his sof ware is o demons ra e sound and anima ion. Plus,
we wan o give you a chance for some hands-on experience in using
Sound Blas er's abili y o record and play sounds hen combine hem wi h
your own anima ed graphics.

y/ ((i program requires an AT (286) computer to run properly. A micro ­
phone plugged into the Sound Blaster ro card is also required. If the
microphone has a switch, make sure it is turned ON.
To s ar he program:
1. Change o he SBPRO direc ory.
2. Type PARROT and press En er.
3. When he screen displays a graph indica ing noise level, press
Enter and ype a number ha is en coun s above he noise level
displayed (140 o 230) and press En er again. For example, if he
graph displays 130, ype 140 and press Enter.
4. When he parro finishes i s opening remarks, speak direc ly in o
he microphone wi h sufficien volume so ha he parro can hear
you.
5. Press he Escape key o leave he program.
