Removing and replacing the system board

Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the components included with the hardware kit.
If persistent memory modules are installed in the system and are encrypted with local key management, do one of the
following:
Manually retrieve the persistent memory module passwords from the system (user-generated passwords only)
Export a password file to a USB key.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends exporting the password file to a USB key.

IMPORTANT:
Hewlett Packard Enterprise does not support replacing a -002 or -003 system board with a -001 system board.
The -003 system board can be used to replace a -001 or -002 system board.
Procedure
1.
Power down the system (Power down the system).
2.
Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the system.
3.
Remove the system from the rack (Remove the system from the rack).
