2.3 Intake System

The intake system consists of acoustic louvres, intake chamber, air filter, intake regulator,
solenoid valves and control air line hoses.

Air intake from outside in Impetus series screw type air compressors is transferred by using
acoustic louvres which are designed for sound insulation. In the meantime, a partial filtration function is
performed against substances such as dust, dirt etc.
A intake chamber has been designed in order to increase efficiency of the airend by intake cold
air from the environment. Sheet metals and sound insulation foams have been used to provide sound
insulation in the internal structure of the intake chamber.
A V type air filter has been used in order to prevent any harmful substance from entering into
the airend. The purpose of using V-type air filter is to keep intake pressure drop at the optimum level.
Air passing through the air filter enters the intake regulator with the help of a hose.
