The hot air exit of the compressor room and the windows the fresh air shall enter from must not be
placed on the same wall.
Prevent the compressor's cooling radiator from being exposed to direct sunlight or hot air shroud
from being exposed to harsh winds. For this, it is recommended that the opening of hot air shroud is
placed at an angle in the 45 degree with vertical direction.
Prevent the compressor room from being exposed to harmful gases and vapour, the heat from
devices like boiler or generator and corrosive gases.

3.4 Electrical Connections

Interior electrical wiring is performed at the factory. Required customer wiring should be done by a
qualified electrician in compliance with OSHA, National Electrical Code and / or any applicable local
electrical code concerning isolation switches, fused disconnects, etc. hertz provides a wiring diagram for
use by the installer. An electrical check should be made to help assure that the first start-up will be
trouble-free. The compressor and drive should be properly grounded/earthed in accordance with local
and national code requirements.
Installation of the compressor must be in accordance with recognized electrical codes and any local
Health and Safety Codes.
A dedicated and fused disconnect switch or circuit breaker should be purchased for the installation.
Any unreasonable voltage imbalance (5%) between phases must be eliminated and low voltage problems
must be corrected to prevent excessive current draw.
Feeder cable should be sized by the customer/ electrical contractor to ensure that the circuit is
balanced and not overloaded by other electrical equipment. The length of wiring from a suitable electrical
feed point is critical as voltage drops may impair the performance of the compressor.
Feeder cable connections to incoming terminals L1-L2-L3 should be tight and clean.
The applied voltage must be compatible with the motor and compressor data plate ratings.
Air compressors must be grounded in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and
requirement. hertz would like to emphasize the importance of providing adequate grounding for air
compressors. The customary practice of grounding units to a building's structural steel may not provide
adequate grounding protection, as paint and corrosion build-up may exist.
Lethal shock hazard inside. Disconnect all power at the source before opening or servicing.
1.
Check incoming voltage. Be sure that the incoming voltage is the same voltage that the
compressor was wired for.
2.
Check motor start and overload heater sizes.
3.
Check all electrical connections for tightness.
