2.2 Drive System
The drive system consists of the frame, motor, airend, coupling and bell housing. Impetus series
screw type air compressors are operated and controlled by electronic control system. This compressors
supply their power from the electric motor. Mechanical thrust needed by airend for compressor to
produce air is provided by electric motor.

The shaft power supplied by electric motor is transferred to the airend with the help of coupling.
Atmospheric air is compressed with oil in the airend and transferred to the oil tank. The oil, which is
injected into the airend, ensures that air backward leakages are prevented and the airend is cooled down.
