The points to be considered for the use of the exchangers used in heat recovery systems:
The exchanger must always be installed in vertical position.
In order to avoid the contamination of the exchanger, filters to avoid the passing of particulates
bigger than 1mm must be installed to the cold water inlet of the compressor.
In case the cooling performance of the exchanger drops, then must be cleaned with non-
flammable proper cleaning agents (detergent or weak acid) through making circulation in the
opposite direction of the normal flow direction. The exchanger can be removed if needed for this
process. It must be rinsed with water after cleaning.

2.8.3 Water Cooled-Heat Recovery

In the water cooled heat recovery system, it is aimed to recover the resulting heat by using plate type
heat exchanger along with the water cooled option. Its operation principle is same as the air cooled heat
recovery system. Hot oil coming out of the oil tank goes to the heat recovery exchanger by means of
thermostatic valve control. It is cooled in the heat recovery exchanger and directed to a separate
thermostatic valve. At this point, if it is below thermostatic valve control temperature, it passes through
filter and goes to the airend. If it is above thermostatic valve control temperature, it is directed to the
airend by providing a second cooling operation in the water cooled plate heat exchanger.
