PROBLEM
Safety valve opens.
Main motor thermal stops the
compressor.

CAUSE
Operating pressure setting is
changed.
Separator is clogged.
Intake regulator is faulty.
Intake regulator solenoid is faulty.
Safety valve is faulty.
Thermal or its setting is faulty.
Low voltage.
Compressor exceeds the set
pressure.
Separator is clogged.
Airend is damaged.
SOLUTION
Check pressure setting.
If internal and external pressure difference
is close to 14.5 psi (1 Bar), your separator is
blocked. Replace the separator with a new
one.
Flap of the intake regulator may be stuck
open. Inform the service.
Check whether control power is supplied to
the solenoid valve or not (during operation
under load). If the power is supplied as
normal, solenoid coil is burnt. Replace the
coil with a new one.
If the safety valve opens before its set
opening pressure value, replace it with a
new one.
Observe that the thermal is set for the
current specified in the motor package, that
the current that passes through the thermal
is in normal values and balanced (while
compressor is in full load) (the current
difference between phases must be less
than 10%). If the thermal opens before the set
current value, it is faulty. Replace with a new
one.
If the mains voltage is %5 lower than the
voltage value that compressor is set for,
inspect the installed power of your network
or facility.
Take the precautions specified above for this
situation.
If internal and external pressure difference
is close to 1 Bar, your separator is blocked.
Replace the separator with a new one.
This may observed by the excessive
operating noise of your compressor. Inform
the service.
If the operating currents are higher than
normal, motor can be overloaded. Run the
compressor for a short duration while
bonnets are open and listen to its sound, and
check the body temperature. Motor winding
might be burned out or there might be a
bearing malfunction. Inform the service.
