Be careful to avoid dropping foreign materials inside the oil tank.
Attach the new separator.
Attach the cover by using adjuster nut.
Attach the cover bolts and mount together.
Make the equipment connections, which you have previously removed from the separator cover, in
an accurate and sound manner.
Operate the compressor and check whether any oil or air leaks through the gasket and connections.

5.2.8 Maintenance of Separator Oil Return Line (Scavenge)

A small amount of oil leaks through the oil filter element while the separator element (filter)
separates the oil and air. This oil is returned back to the system with the oil return line.
Oil flow shall be observed through the glass indicator on the oil return line while the compressor is
operated under load.
If the hole (orifice) on the oil return line is clogged, the oil level in the tank is reduced quickly and oil
enters the compressed air system.
If you see oil coming from below the air tank while performing water drain or oil level of compressor
is decreased continuously at daily oil level checks, scavenge line might be clogged. Stop the
compressor and remove the scavenge line, clean the hole (orifice) on the scavenge line with
compressed air or a thin wire.
Do not widen the scavenge orifice or your compressor's capacity shall be reduced.
During the assembly of the scavenge pipe, the end surface of the short side of the pipe and the
cover of the oil tank should be aligned. In this way, excess oil carry over in compressed air is
prevented.
