You can put your compressor into use by making necessary daily checks before operating it.
Make sure that there is not an error signal on the compressor panel.
Check the internal mechanism to make sure there is no oil leak or any damage.
Check the front panel and make sure that there is not an error signal and that the operating
pressure and temperature values are normal.

4.3 Initial Operation

Please bear in mind that initial starting operation of the compressor should always be performed by
authorized service. Contact HERTZ KOMPRESSOREN for authorized service details.
Check electrical and air connections of your compressor before its initial operation.
Check that cooling air inlet and outlet of your compressor isn't blocked in any way.
There is a "phase control relay" controlling the electrical phases in the electrical panel of your
compressor. If the phases are connected in an incorrect sequence or there is an instability or
interruption in your voltage, phase control relay will interfere with operation of compressor. The
alarm code showing the phase error on the control panel notifies you about this. If phases are cross
connected, de-energise and swap two of the phase cables of main inlet connection of compressor.
When there is interruption or instability with phases, report the situation to your electrical technical
staff or relevant organizations as this problem is related to the network.
After the power and air installation of the compressor is completed, inform our service for initial
starting operation. Our service shall perform the necessary checks. Then, it shall put your
compressor into use and inform you about your system and maintenance of your compressor. A
wrong operation can cause your compressor, facility to be damaged and the people working in the
vicinity to be injured.
Check the oil level when the compressor is stopped. Oil level may change during operation. Add oil
if the oil is missing. All information regarding oil are described in the "compressor oil" section in the
"MAINTENANCE" chapter.
Check the oil flow in the scavenge line while the compressor operates under a load. Since it can
enable you to detect possible errors about your compressor early on, this check protects you from
the loss of time caused by unnecessary shut downs due to malfunctions.
After operating the compressor, check that the motor of the compressor rotates in the correct
direction. Compressor rotating direction check must always be performed at initial starting
operation. Remove the covers required for this.
After removing the coupling guards of the compressor, look at the airend shaft; press "Start" button,
operate the compressor for a short time (1-2 seconds) and then immediately stop the compressor
by pressing "Emergency Stop" button. As viewed from the airend shaft side; it should be rotated in
the direction of arrow sign, (it is indicated with an arrow direction just above the airend).
Install the removed components and reactivate the compressor by completely opening the outlet
valve of compressor if rotating direction is correct.
Close the valve at the air tank exit and fill the tank.
Check that the pressure level has increased from the control panel display of your compressor.
Check that the pressure reached to the set value and your compressor passed to idle mode.
If the value of air pressure in the tank does not decrease, compressor shall stop automatically after
a period of idle operation. Check that compressor is under load at the readjusted pressure value by
opening tank outlet valve after waiting for one or two minutes.
