PPD printer description Þles
There are 3.0 and 4.1 versions of the PPD Þles; use the version required by
your application.
Note Also included on the Printer Utilities diskette are 3.0 and 4.1
TKP220J1.PPD Þles for use with a Japanese Kanji language
version of the printer.
Version 3.0 PPDs
The \PPD3.0 subdirectory on the Printer Utilities diskette contains the
Phaser 220i version 3.0 TKP220I1.PPD (TK220171.PPD for the 17-font version
of the Phaser 220e; TK220391.PPD for the 39-font version of the Phaser 220e)
printer description Þles that may be required by some Windows
applications, such as Aldus FreeHand and PageMaker. Copy this Þle to the
directory on your computerÕs hard disk where other PPD Þles are located.
For example, the subdirectory in FreeHandÕs File Manager containing
printer description Þles may be called ALDUS\USENGLISH\PPDS. Refer
to your applicationÕs documentation for details on using printer description
Þles. These version 3.0 PPD Þles are based on the Adobe Printer Description
Files SpeciÞcation Version 3.0. Refer to your applicationÕs documentation to
see if 3.0 is the version you should use.
Version 4.1 PPDs
The \PPD4.1 subdirectory on the diskette contains the Phaser 220i version
4.1 TKPH220I1.PPD (TK220171.PPD for the 17-font version of the Phaser
220e; TK220391.PPD for the 39-font version of the Phaser 220e) printer
description Þles. These Þles are provided for support of Windows
applications, such as newer Aldus applications. These Þles are based on the
Adobe Printer Description Files SpeciÞcation Version 4.1.
Copy the appropriate Þle to the directory on your hard disk where other
PPD Þles are located. For example, the subdirectory in FreeHandÕs File
Manager containing printer description Þles may be called
ALDUS\USENGLISH\PPDS. Refer to your applicationÕs documentation for
details on using printer description Þles.
