Note: If you are installing a quad port 10Gb SFP+ NIC card, you must remove the transceivers from the ports
before attempting to the install the card.
7. Insert the new PCIe card.
a) Insert the new PCIe card into the card slot.
Note:
For HPE Alletra 5010 or Nimble Storage AF20 and HF20 models: NIC or HBA cards should be inserted in
slot 1 and then slot 3. Slot 2 is not supported.
For HPE Nimble Storage AF60 and AF80 models: SCM cards should be inserted in slot 2 if slot 2 is available.
b) Swing the thumbscrew into the closed position and tighten.
Tip: You can temporarily remove the SFP and the rubber port covers on the new PCIe card to make it easier to
angle the card into the slot.
Note: After the card is successfully installed, reinsert the transceiver into the port if you removed it.
8. Reinsert the PCIe card holder.
a) Rotate the card holder 45 degrees clockwise and line up the top most PCIe card with the plastic tabs.
b) Insert the card holder until it hits the rear stop.
c) Twist the card holder into place ensuring the rubber tabs engage all PCIe cards properly.
