HPE recommends using the Maintenance Window functionality within the HPE InfoSight portal to inform HPE Support of
upcoming maintenance windows.
Refer to https://infosight.hpe.com/dashboards/nimble/wellness/maintenance-windows for more information.
You can disable automated support case generation during planned maintenance from the Manage Maintenance Windows
page. After a maintenance window is set, no further communication with HPE Support is required.
Note: You do not have to shut down the array to upgrade drives.
CAUTION:
Before you install the new drives:
For an HPE Alletra 5010H, the minimum SSD cache required to support the 11 x 2TB HDD field upgrade is
1920GB. For an HPE Nimble Storage HF20H array, the minimum SSD cache required to support the 11 x 1TB
HDD field upgrade is 1920GB. If your array does not have the minimum SSD cache capacity, you must upgrade
the cache before proceeding with the HDD upgrade. See Upgrade Cache on page 112.
There is no specific order in which the HDD drives need to be installed.
After installation, the new drives must be activated before they are fully functional.
Note: The drives in bank B will not report as installed in the GUI or CLI until all drives in the bank are
