General troubleshooting steps

If you're not sure what's causing the problem with your body worn system, one of the following actions may help:
Camera
1. Restart the body worn camera.

If the camera is docked, undock the camera and dock it again.

If the camera is undocked, use the power button to turn it off, and then turn it back on again.
Issue
Can't complete pairing.
Can't connect to body worn
camera.
Can't use Live view.
Can't see the full user ID in
the visual watermark.
Can't connect to body worn
camera.
The LED on the reader doesn't
turn green when connecting it
to the system controller.
No location data in text
overlay.
No user ID in text overlay.
Recording doesn't start when
unholstering.
Holster sensor doesn't pair or
connect to camera.
Cause
The wireless range between
the mobile device and the
body worn camera is limited.
Only the first 12 characters of
the user ID are shown in the
visual watermark.
The pairing is expired, or
removed from the body worn
system.
You are using an RFID reader
that is not supported by the
body worn system.
Location data is turned off.
No GPS signal at the start of
the recording.
The camera user has no user
ID.
The holster sensor is not
connected to the camera.
The holster sensor is
uncalibrated.
The Holster Aware Setup
mobile application is
connected to the holster
sensor.

Solution
Keep the mobile device and
the body worn camera closer
together.
If the user ID is longer than
12 characters, we recommend
including the most unique
part of it first.
Contact the system
administrator and request
a new pairing. Once you
receive the information
needed, open the app and
follow the instructions in
Remove existing pairing on
page 52.
Use External RFID Card
Reader 125kHz + 13.56MHz
with NFC (USB).
Turn on Location data in the
camera profile.
-
Add a user ID to the camera
user.
When you connect the camera
to the holster sensor, make
sure that it is in the camera's
range within 10 minutes after
you undock the camera. Under
normal circumstances the
range is 5–10 m (16–33 ft).
Calibrate the holster
sensor. See the
Yardarm support page for
information.
Close the Holster Aware Setup
mobile application and restart
the pairing process.
